Dive Careers Divemaster trainees at Buddha View have a well structured, comprehensive course plus unlimited diving and assisting before and after this schedule. Divemaster training starts the day you arrive on Koh Tao.  Our schedule is there to fit your time on Koh Tao. Below is an example of what we put into your training as a divemaster.  Simply compare it to other internships and you see we offer much more.  This schedule ensures that you meet all of the performance requirements of the divemaster course, but you are encouraged to stay as long as you like on your internship gaining loads of diving experience and developing your divemaster skills to help you onto a great lifestyle and rewarding career in the diving industry.

10.00am Orientation - Divemaster Conducted Programs - Start Diving, Keep Diving and Risk Management

2.00pm Diving Decompression Theory and the RDP Bring Dive Careers DM Booklet, DM Manual, RDP Table and eRDPml (materials that are included in your Divemaster internship package)

 

Day 2

8.30am Diving Skills Demonstrations- watch the video inlcuded in your Dive Careers pack and then practice skill demonstrations in the pool

1.00pm Diving Physics seminar

Morning -  Assist with dive courses, guiding divers or complete your Dive Site Set Up and Management (Boat Master) or just get out and dive

2.00pm Diving Physiology seminar

Oxygen Provider Course - Materials and Certification included in Dive Careers Divemaster Internship

 

Day 4

9.00am Marine Resource Management and Reef Ecology Introduction to basic reef ecology and reef management practices - Booklet and DVD included in Dive Careers Divemaster Internship

12.30pm Underwater Naturalist Dive to develop your understanding of the marine environment

 

Day 5

Morning Assist with dive courses, guiding divers or complete your Dive Site Set Up and Management (Boat Master) or just get out and dive

12.30pm Underwater Navigation Workshop.

2.00pm Nitrox Theory - materials, certification and dive included in Dive Careers Divemaster Internship

7.30am  Dive 1: Nitrox Dive Dive 2: Rescue Assessments

9.00am  Scuba Review for Certified Divers Workshop. Assessing a diver’s knowledge, briefing, demonstrating skills and problem solving

Afternoon Assist with dive courses, guiding divers or complete your Dive Site Set Up and Management (Boat Master) or just get out and dive

7pm Social night out Bowling or 9 ball competition for Divemaster trainees

 

Day 11

Morning  Assist with dive courses, guiding divers or complete your Dive Site Set Up and Management (Boat Master) or just get out and dive

12.30pm Search and Recovery Workshop. Search patterns, knot tying and lift bag use. Bring compass

7.30am  Dive 1: Deep Dive Scenario Dive 2: Mapping Dive. Bring compass, slate and pencil.

• Completing a research diver internship will add to your Divemaster Internship making you a Divemaster with a great understanding of the marine environment.  This will really add to your dive briefings and will look great on your diving resume.  

• Many dive shops and live-aboards employ underwater videographers to film their divers.  Completing an underwater videography internship with us on Koh Tao in conjunction with your Divemaster internship opens up loads of employment opportunities.  Our underwater videography team run comprehensive video internships with real work opportunities.

• LIve-aboard diving is a popular part of the dive industry, reaching some of the most exotic locations in the world. Adding a live-aboard internship to your Dive Careers Divemaster course gives you the skills of conducting live-aboard dive trips an improves your resume when looking for work in those exotice dive live-aboard locations aroudn the world.

• Continue the Koh Tao experience and train through to dive instructor.  Dive Instructor opens up many more employment opportunites throughout the world.

• Apnea, breath hold diving, is a fascinating sport.  Our Apnea diving packages can be added to Dive Careers divemaster to develop well rounded dive professionals that can teach apnea diving skills as well as scuba, or simply to pursue an interest in seeing how long and how deep you can hold your breath. 

• Muay Thai boxing is a great way to stay fit and experience Thai culture first hand.  Mark, as a former owner of the Koh Tao Muay Thai Stadium and Training Camp,  can organise boxing training right through to Muay Thai Instructor.
